The Women In Concert is in its 6th year and as in the past Women In Concert 2009 introduced some fine singers. Held on Saturday, March 21 at the Gokarna Golf Resort and Spa this year the WIC was presented as part of the Chevrolet Miles Music Festival. It was a pleasure listening to Sapna Thapa sing an original tune; the other artists who lit up the stage with their presence, confidence, musicianship and vocal talent were Astha Tamang Maskey, Esperangma Rai, Shivani, Kencho, Sonam, Sangay Trio and many others. SAPANA THAPA SHOULDN'T SING!
just because she is aruna lama's daughter doesn't make her good singer.

Bal, her voice isn't all that bad! Infact I liked her voice.
Apr 3, 2009 @ 04:03 AM
Bal, you don't have good ears i think. I think Sapna Thapa sings great!!!!! I love her voice.

Sushan and Cool, great voice doesn't make someone a good singer, I know its an essential skill you need, but it ain't enough.

So if great voice doesn't make someone a good singer, what does?
So dumb man. Of course if someone has a good or great voice, they are good singers. I think Sapna Thapa is great! Keep doing didi.

Cool,
I am talking about skills, not voice. I listened to her sing with her brother at one of the awards ceremony long time ago, giving tribute to her mom and she sucked, big time! She wasn't prepared at all, the scales were all jumbled up. Felt like she wasn't ready, come on man, she was giving tribute to her mom. If you aren't a good singer, just don't sing, forget about paying tribute.
That day on, my respect to the lady was gone.

I think she has a big talent! And her mothers' success is far not a reason for my opinion. Yeah, by all means, her voice is not the strongest in the world, but she has enough skills to become a real star! And I really wish it for her.

I think there are not many indian singers like Sapna Thapa, who achieved something and at least somehow realized its talent.
